Darkness and light

Darkness and light. Every single day we physically encounter these two things. In the morning, we wake up to sunlight, and at night we go to bed to darkness.

But just as real as light and darkness is physically, so are they spiritually.
Different seasons of life leave us feeling as though there is a dawn breaking, or that there is darkness surrounding us.
The “light of dawn” in the bible refers to the hope of Jesus Christ that is growing inside of our hearts. But the exact hebrew meaning of “with no dawn” is uncertain. And I thought how perfect is that? That the definition for a time of darkness where we are full with uncertainty, is itself uncertain.
But there is a hope. Despite the darkness you feel, and the uncertainty that you face, there is a hope.
There is a confidence that as believers we can have despite the insecurity we face in our season of life.
And that hope is Jesus.
When earthly circumstances show despair and sadness, the Joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
When people around you beat you down and make you feel less than worthy, you can be confident that you are handcrafted by the Author of Life, fearfully and wonderfully. (Psalm 139: 13-14).
When life feels like it isn’t going your way. People saying the wrong things, circumstances not going the way you had hoped, you can be reminded that this life is temporary, and that you have a perfect & eternal life waiting for you at the end of this one (2 Corinthians 4:18).
Life right now, feels uncertain.
What will school look like in the fall? When will I see my family again? What's going to get cancelled next?
But through the earthly darkness we have a spiritual dawn breaking. He gives hope through the moments of hopelessness. He gives clarity through moments of confusion. And HE WILL give you light through your moment of darkness.
