Life is worth living

 Do you ever wonder why are you really here? Like out of every person God could have made and given life here on earth, He chose you, and it just kind of freaks you out? 

Recently I had one of my friends text me and they were getting pretty scared of these videos and posts they had been seeing on social media, where people were talking about the end of the world. Were the posts probably just people trying to get attention? Yeah probably. But I texted my friend for a while back and forth trying to help them find comfort and peace with the idea of Jesus coming soon, and the world ending. This topic honestly scares a lot of people, and it's something that I think mostly everyone just tries not to think about because it freaks them out so bad. So if you're reading this, and you feel this way, don’t worry, you are completely normal… 
Anyways, after my conversation with my friend, I really started thinking about the world ending. This thought has never really scared me until I really began to think about it the other night. My mind started to wander and sort through all of the possible questions and concerns with the world coming to an end, but one question kept reoccuring in my mind… Am I ready to look Jesus in the face and tell Him I have done everything I can, to further the Kingdom of God? 
I think sometimes it's so easy to just go through the motions in your day to day life. Wake up, go to school, go to sports practice, come home, eat dinner, do homework, go to bed. I know personally going through weeks where I feel like I'm just going through a set schedule like this, I find it really hard to find the purpose of the life I'm living. But I had this thought…
We have all heard the cheesy quote “YOLO”... But have you ever really stopped to think about that quote? Because it isn't true at all! Yes, we live once here on earth. But this is only our temporary home. Because after this life, or even if the world were to end while we are here, we will be resurrected and living for eternity with our King. We have purpose because he has given us a command over and over in the bible, to be a light in this dark world, whatever the cost may be. 
So why are we really here? And why the heck did He make us? The answer is simple… We are here because He died. We are here because we are meant to be active difference makers. He not only made us, but He hand-selected each of us, called us by name, and the biggest reason of all… He made us because He LOVES us! 
So to answer my own question, “would I be ready to look Jesus in the face right now and tell Him I have done everything I can do for the kingdom?” I will never have done everything that I want to do on this earth because each day the list gets longer. But, each day I will choose to serve the Lord with my whole heart, and be a light in this world, doing everything I can to further the kingdom!
Always remember, you have purpose because of Jesus! You have an immeasurable amount of worth because of His death on the cross, you are loved more than you'll ever know because the Author of Love breathed life into you, and your life is so worth living! On the days where you feel like you are going through the motions, ask God to show you what He wants from you that day, whether that's a big task, or just saying hi to someone at school. 
Through Jesus, we have conquered death, so don't live in fear, but make the most of the time you have here!

The Lame Beggar

A Hungry Heart

  I have these instincts.  These things that are woven into the fabric of my being. It’s like this-  When I'm hungry, I anticipate the next meal that I get to partake in.  I know that the solution to this hunger in the pit of my stomach will be solved by the nutrients found in a meal.  My stomach growls.  My mouth waters.  My brain races with the flavors of the food.  I anticipate it.  I know the food is real.  It's there.  It's tangible.  And so the actions that I make until now and my meal are reflective of the simple fact that I trust it will satisfy me.  The meal is coming.  And so, I move through my task a little faster.  I prepare the ingredients.  I plate the meal.  I prepare to eat.  It's what I need.  And I trust that this is the solution for the groaning in my stomach.  My soul does this sometimes.  It's this groaning in the pit of my heart.  And I know it's a longing ...
