Ephesians 1 & 2 thoughts.
Piqued interest leading to fleeting satisfaction.
It's all around us. It's what this generation is built on. It is what we have put our hope in.
Our world is built on things that are made to temporarily fill our hearts.
The purpose of these earthly things is fleeting.
There is no eternal value to the things of this world.
When we fill our day with back-to-back fleeting joys, it is harder to notice that we are not content with our lives.
But ask yourself if you sat alone and just was still. Would you be okay?
Do you have a purpose? Are you fulfilled?
See, we have taken the million pieces of our broken hearts and placed them in things we hope to fulfill us. When one thing fails us, we feel alone. Discontent. Worthless.
What if I told you that the world has lied to us? It has promised us happiness in things that are designed to fail.
The buzz fades.
The night closes.
The college years end.
The sex stops.
The relationships fail.
And what then?
But, what if I told you that there is a purpose that can not, and will never fail? What If I told you that there was Someone who would forever satisfy the longings of your heart? What if I told you that you no longer had to hope something will satisfy, but can instead place your confidence in something you know will satisfy?
That tug on your heart is not a coincidence.
That leap of hope in your chest when you have heard a verse, listened to a podcast, or tuned into a Christian radio station, is a divine tap on the shoulder.
That small pull on your soul when you just heard the name of Jesus is a supernatural wake-up call. Even now, as you read these words and your heart beats out of your chest, it is the Spirit prompting you.
God has a purpose and a will for you. He chose you before the foundation of the world to be adopted into the inheritance that he has claimed for you. He desires for you to be holy and blameless. He longs to bestow his love and grace upon you.
An inheritance and an unwavering purpose are ready to be obtained. Will you receive it?
There is revelation in the knowledge of Christ.
Your life will be changed. Your heart will be transformed, your soul will be redeemed, and your hope will be restored.
What things in this world have ever done that for you?
Stop believing the lie. Stop the cycle.
Ephesians 3:8-10
“For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. Not a result of work, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
