The Gift That is Jesus

Each piece of scripture gives us small glimpses of glory into the character of our Savior.  Prophecy, revealing His omniscient Kingship.  Acts against evil in the Old Testament uncovering His steadfast provision.  Healing of lepers, raising of the dead, and restoration of sight to the blind, through His divine power, yet days later reclining at a dinner table with sinners showing us His tenderhearted compassion.  Flipping of tables disclosing His radical enthusiasm for the Kingdom, yet His gentle and lowly heart on display by washing the feet of His disciples. The character of our Savior. Displayed in boundless acts of love, and small whispers of grace. In world-wide proclamations, and intimate intercession from the Spirit. But the Christmas story seems to be both. Baby Jesus is precious and innocent, yet He is supremely sovereign.
